Officers from the Norwalk Police Department’s Strategic Narcotics Enforcement Team attempted to apprehend Norwalk resident Harlie Thompson on Sunday afternoon. Police said that three officers on patrol spotted Thompson on Meadow Street with “what appeared to be a firearm in his waistband.”
According to police, when Thompson was approached by the officers, he took off on foot being ultimately being caught in the backyard of a Meadow Street home. Following a brief struggle with the officers, Thompson was taken into custody. Police said that further investigation found that Thompson was in possession of a loaded .357 caliber pistol and marijuana.
Thompson was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, interfering with police officers and threatening. Thompson is currently being held in lieu of $250,000 bond.
